Abortion Bill
I've been trying for some time to come up with the energy to do a post on the horrendously stupid and insulting (and unconstitutional) abortion bill that's in both the House and the Senate right now. (HB1831/SB1058). Rather than doing a summary myself, I've found a pretty good summary of the legislation and its impact here. It's worth checking out the NARAL legal analysis as well if you're interested in some of the technical aspects and their implications as well.
The Reader's Digest version is this: Some Missouri lawmakers think that women (esp. pregnant women, with all those hormones flying around, ONOZ!) are incompetent to make decisions, and shouldn't be allowed to make them if they've ever had a conversation with anyone that involved the word "abortion." *rolls eyes*
Really, if you don't read anything else on here, read this. Many of us take our rights for granted. At very least, be aware that people are actively trying to take them away.
